The roots of Gomér & Andersson go back to April 8, 1929, when Nils Andersson (1897-1981) and his brother-in-law David Gomér (1887-1977) held their first auction together at Prästgården in Rappestad, outside Linköping. What began as agricultural and farm auctions - horses, livestock, implements, machinery - gradually shifted over the following decades toward urban estate sales. The company held its first regular urban auctions in Linköping's city centre in January 1975, and by 1982 had conducted a total of 5,489 auctions. Today the family business is owned and led by Nils Andersson's grandchildren Annika Rystadius (chairman) and Håkan Rystadius (CEO), and has grown into a broader group encompassing an estate agency, property company, and pawnbroker alongside the auction house.
The Nyköping branch, located at Gumsbackevägen 5B in the Södermanland capital, opened in 2020, extending the company's reach beyond its Ãstergötland heartland. The branch follows the same model as its siblings in Linköping and Norrköping - operating through Auctionet and offering a catalog that spans paintings, silver, ceramics, furniture, and collectibles. Top recorded results for the Nyköping house include a Carl Wilhelmson painting sold for 126,000 SEK.
Like all Gomér & Andersson locations, the Nyköping branch provides home valuations and full estate liquidation services, handling everything from a single object to the complete contents of a property. For buyers, the Auctionet platform means bidding is accessible from anywhere, while sellers benefit from a network with nearly a century of experience reading the market.
