Södersens Auktionshus was founded in 1975 by Karl Söderblom in Bålsta, in the Uppsala region of central Sweden. What began as a local auction operation grew into a multi-site family business with deep roots in the communities it serves. The company is today run by the second generation: Anders Söderblom chairs the board, and his sister Anna Stephensen serves as CEO.
The Uppsala location at Bolandsgatan 15G opened as an expansion of the original Bålsta operation, responding to clear demand from the Uppsala market. The branch specialises in design, art, jewellery, and household contents, handling everything from individual items to full estate clearances. The Bålsta location additionally conducts sales of police seizures and lost property on behalf of Swedish authorities.
Södersens runs its own auction platform, independent of Auctionet, with online bidding and on-site viewing. The top item categories reflect a broad generalist base: ceramics, miscellaneous household goods, art, and furniture dominate the catalogue.
