Flanders Auctions is a family-run international auction house based in Roeselare, in the heart of West Flanders, Belgium. The house traces its roots to the 1990s, when founder Pol Desmet began collecting art and antiques at local fairs and markets. What started as a passion soon became a business — first a small garage, then a 1,000-square-metre showroom in Oostkamp near Bruges in 1999, trading internationally under the name Antiques Belgium.
In 2006, the company established its headquarters and warehouse in Wildenburg. Pol was joined by his sons Lieven (2010) and Steven (2016), cementing the family character of the business. A bold expansion followed in 2018 with the opening of a showroom in Round Top, Texas — their first outside Belgium.
In 2020, Antiques Belgium evolved into Flanders Auctions, marking its transformation into a full-service international auction house. The company moved to its current Roeselare headquarters in 2025. Today, Flanders Auctions hosts over 10 auctions per year, offering a carefully curated selection of fine art, antique silver, European decorative arts, furniture, and objets d'art spanning the 17th to the 20th century.
Their catalogues regularly feature Belgian and French masters, Art Deco and modernist furniture, silver by notable European craftsmen, Chinese works of art, sculpture, porcelain, carpets, and period jewelry. With online and in-person bidding available, Flanders Auctions serves collectors across Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and beyond.
