When Reijmyre Glasbruk lit its first furnace in 1810, the Swedish glass industry was already centuries old. What made this Östergötland glassworks distinctive was not priority but persistence. Founded by Johan Jacob Graver and Baron Mattias Alexander von Ungern-Sternberg in the village of Rejmyre, near Finspång, the works has survived bankruptcy, ownership changes, and the wholesale collapse of Swedish glass manufacturing to remain one of the country's few active glassworks, still producing mouth-blown and hand-pressed glass more than two centuries later.

The nineteenth century established Reijmyre's reputation for pressed and engraved tableware, and by 1900 the glassworks had become one of Sweden's most recognized producers. The Art Nouveau period brought new techniques and designs, and in 1903 Reijmyre merged with Kosta Glasbruk, though both operations retained their individual names and production. The most celebrated chapter came in the mid-twentieth century when Monica Bratt served as artistic director from 1937 to 1958. Bratt, one of few women leading a Swedish glassworks at the time, worked in close collaboration with master glassblower Harald Eriksson, and her colored glass jugs and decorative pieces brought Reijmyre international attention.

The glassworks is perhaps best known for its "Antik" series, a line of tableware with roots stretching back to the 1810s. The softly rounded forms and delicate engraved patterns have remained in production essentially unchanged, a rare example of a design so well-resolved that it simply endures. The Antik glasses appear with striking regularity at Swedish auctions, prized both for their quality and for the nostalgic association many Swedish households have with the pattern.

Today Reijmyre positions itself as a craft-focused producer, emphasizing handmade production and working with contemporary designers while maintaining its historical patterns. The glassworks has also become a visitor destination in the Östergötland countryside.

At auction, Reijmyre glass surfaces most frequently in the eastern Swedish regional houses: Gomér & Andersson in Linköping and Norrköping, Kaplans Auktioner, and RA Auktionsverket. The Antik tableware series dominates the listings, with large service sets reaching SEK 6,000-6,200. Monica Bratt-era colored glass and the Nocturnus candlestick by Lotta Horn represent the higher end of the market. With 333 indexed items on Auctionist, Reijmyre is one of the most frequently traded Swedish glass manufacturers on the platform.
