Örjan Wikström was born in 1948 in Stockholm and has spent much of his working life between Sweden and France. He studied at Konstfack in Stockholm and subsequently at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, a formative period that grounded his practice in the European printmaking tradition while exposing him to the figurative currents running through French art of the postwar decades.

Wikström's output centers on the human figure, rendered through color lithography, gouache, and watercolor. His compositions are built on light and silhouette: figures appear against luminous, often indistinct grounds, their identities dissolved into posture and gesture rather than individual portrait. There is a quiet theatricality to his work - figures seated at tables, standing in conversation, arranged in interior spaces - that recalls the intimism of Bonnard and Vuillard without directly quoting either.

His Bloomsbury series, which has appeared in both gouache and print formats, takes its name from the London literary and artistic circle of the early twentieth century. The works in the series play on the idea of cultured gathering: figures cluster in softly colored rooms, their interactions implied but never fully resolved. It is a body of work that rewards slow looking.

Wikström has exhibited widely across Scandinavia and in France, with gallery presentations in Stockholm, Karlstad, Malmö, Linköping, and Copenhagen. His prints have been shown at the Litografiska museet in Tidaholm and at Grafikcentrum in Gävle, two institutions dedicated specifically to the printmaking arts. A book, "Porträtten", was published in 2024 alongside an exhibition at Galleri Sander in Linköping.

His work is held in the collections of Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo, and the museums in Malmö, Norrköping, and Kalmar. On Auctionist, Wikström appears across 38 lots, primarily sold by mid-size Swedish regional houses including Metropol, Karlstad Hammarö Auktionsverk, and Växjö Auktionskammare. Works are predominantly color lithographs and gouaches in modest format, with realized prices typically ranging from 200 to 750 SEK. His top recorded sale on the platform is "Samtal" at 750 SEK.
