Helsingborgs Auktionskammare is the oldest auction house in Helsingborg, tracing its roots to 1907 - more than a century of continuous operation in a city with deep trading traditions along the Oresund strait. For most of its history the house operated from central Helsingborg, with premises on Kungsgatan that became familiar to generations of local collectors and dealers. In 2001, the Nyholm family took over the firm, and in 2021 they made a bold move: relocating to Spritan, a converted distillery complex at Fabriksgatan 22 in Odakra on the northern outskirts of the city. The new premises offer roughly double the floor space of the old city-centre location, with purpose-adapted storage and viewing areas that give the catalog room to breathe.

Managing director Magnus Nyholm and authorized appraiser Pernilla Nyholm run the house as a hands-on family operation. The catalog is deliberately broad - ceramics, porcelain, paintings, prints, glass, silver, furniture, design objects, and everyday household goods all pass through the doors regularly. Twice to three times a year the house stages dedicated quality auctions alongside its regular fortnightly Saturday sales, where bidders can find anything from a Hans J. Wegner desk to decorative Scandinavian studio pottery. A Marta Maas-Fjetterstrom rug sold here for 120,100 SEK, and a set of Hans J. Wegner chairs reached 48,153 SEK, illustrating the range of outcomes possible in a single season.

The house runs its auctions through the Auctionet platform, giving it national and international reach well beyond the Helsingborg region. Spritan is open daily for drop-offs and viewings, and the informal atmosphere - somewhere between a warehouse and a curiosity cabinet - has become part of the appeal. For collectors in Skane and beyond, it remains one of the most consistent sources of Scandinavian applied art and furniture at the mid-market level.
