Barcelona Auctions traces its origins to 1982, when its founders began operating under the name Sala Barna on Carrer de Sant Eusebi in Barcelona. In 1997 the business relocated to Carrer de Santaló and rebranded as Arce Subastas. In 2012, new partners launched Sala de Ventas Barcelona, which moved to Carrer de Rosselló in 2015. The two strands merged into the unified Barcelona Auctions brand in partnership with the Auctionet platform, enabling continuous online bidding alongside several dedicated Fine Art hammer sales each year in the Barcelona saleroom.
Since their first auction in 1982, the house has sold more than one million lots. The catalog is broad, with particular strength in paintings, silverware, and ceramics. Specialists cover disciplines ranging from Old Masters and 20th-century Spanish art to furniture, carpets, and decorative objects. Five curated Fine Art auctions per year complement the daily online catalog.
