Two friends in Stockholm, Eddie Anderson and Robert (nicknamed Robben), opened a model car shop in 1977 and gave it a name that combined their own: Robeddie Modellbilar. What started as a retail venture soon evolved into something more distinctive. The pair began commissioning handbuilt 1:43 scale replicas of classic Swedish cars, produced in white metal by Brooklin Models in England.

The Rob Eddie catalogue focused almost exclusively on Volvo and Saab models spanning several decades of Swedish automotive history. Each model carried an RE designation number. Among the most recognized pieces are replicas of the Volvo PV544, the Volvo Amazon 120, the Volvo P1800, the 1939 Volvo PV56, and the 1946 Volvo PV60. The range also included a Saab 99 and a 1978 Saab 95GL. Several models were produced in limited editions, with some variants made specifically for Volvo Sweden. The line grew to include over thirty distinct models before production wound down.

Brooklin Models discontinued the Rob Eddie range around 2009-2010, though a few final pieces, including a Volvo Amazon Police car, appeared as late as 2011. The brand is now defunct, and the remaining stock has become sought-after among collectors of Scandinavian automotive miniatures.

On the Nordic auction market, Rob Eddie models appear regularly through Swedish houses. Auktionshuset Kolonn has handled the largest share, with 101 recorded lots, followed by Roslagens Auktionsverk with 21. Prices typically reflect the niche collector appeal of these models. A 1938 Volvo PV52 Pick-Up in "Esso" livery with its original box reached 6,400 SEK, while grouped lots of three or four models have sold in the 4,400 to 5,534 SEK range. All 122 recorded items fall within the collectibles category.
