Per Ola Andersson was born in 1961 in Malmö and has spent his career in the southern Swedish art scene, developing a practice rooted in abstract painting where color and composition carry the primary expressive weight. His canvases often preserve a ghostly sense of the object - forms that hover between representation and pure abstraction - rendered in acrylic with an intensity that feels charged and deliberate.
Andersson studied in the Malmö region and has undertaken study trips across Europe, including Germany, England, France, Spain, Norway, Denmark, and Poland. These journeys fed a restless visual intelligence that shows up in the variety and energy of his output, from tightly composed diptychs to monumental single canvases exceeding two meters across.
His exhibition record spans roughly forty shows in Sweden and Denmark.
