Lennart Möller was born in 1935 in Råå, a fishing village just south of Helsingborg on the Skåne coast. He grew up close to the sea, and the rhythms of coastal and rural life would shape his work for the rest of his career. Before becoming a full-time artist, he worked as a lithographer at Allers in Helsingborg, a background that gave him a practical fluency with image-making and print. He was self-taught as a painter, never having attended an art academy.
During the 1970s Möller left his position at Allers and committed entirely to painting. Around the same time, the landscape and fishing culture of Blekinge drew him to settle in Mörrum, a small community on the Mörrumsån river in southern Sweden. The river, famous among anglers for its salmon and sea trout, became something of a lifelong subject. He painted the Mörrumsån across all four seasons - its open summer light, the mist of autumn mornings, and the cold quietness of winter along the banks.
His output spanned oil on canvas, watercolour, and printmaking including lithographs. Figure motifs and summer idylls appear regularly alongside the river and landscape scenes he became associated with. Local fishermen and farmers were among his patrons, commissioning works as personal mementos of the places they shared with him. One notable commission came from a church in the area: Möller was asked to paint seasonal scenes for the walls of Kungsforsens chapel, giving his work a lasting public presence in the community.
Möller remained active well into old age, once noting that his drive to paint was as strong in his later years as it had been at the outset. He died in 2025 at the age of 90, having spent roughly half a century as a professional painter in Blekinge. His work appeared at regional auction houses across southern Sweden, with pieces sold through Ekenbergs, Helsingborgs Auktionskammare, Garpenhus Auktioner, and Auctionet. On Auctionist, 17 works have been catalogued, all paintings, with sales recorded at auction houses operating across Skåne and Blekinge.
