Glismand & Rüdiger is a Copenhagen-based design studio founded by Tonny Glismand and Karl Rüdiger Rossell. The two designers had earlier worked together under the name byKATO - a compound of their first names Karl and Tonny - which they established around 2010. That earlier collaboration produced award-winning furniture for Andersen Furniture, including the T1 dining table, which won the Wallpaper Design Award 2012 in the Best Dining Table category, and the companion S1 sideboard and AC2 chair.
The Glismand & Rüdiger studio has become most closely associated with its work for Bolia, the Danish furniture brand positioned around contemporary Scandinavian design. Their output for Bolia spans sofas, coffee tables, and dining tables: the Scandinavia sofa series, the Como coffee table, the North sofa, and the Yacht dining table are among the collections attributed to the pair. The Scandinavia sofa in particular has become one of Bolia's most visible and widely retailed pieces, sold through design stores across northern Europe and beyond.
Their design approach is rooted in what they describe as honesty with materials - favouring natural wood, leather, and textiles, and avoiding decorative additions that do not serve a structural or ergonomic function. The overall aesthetic sits within the broader tradition of Danish functionalism: clean profiles, considered proportions, and an emphasis on long-term usability over trend responsiveness. Alongside Bolia, the studio has also worked with Normann Copenhagen.
On the secondary auction market, Glismand & Rüdiger pieces appear mainly in Sweden. All 13 lots in the Auctionist database are categorised as furniture, with the majority listed under sofas and seating groups. Bukowskis Stockholm accounts for 7 of the 13 lots, with additional appearances at Stockholms Auktionsverk and Formstad Auktioner. The single recorded final price is 143 SEK for a Como coffee table, reflecting the broader pattern for contemporary design-brand furniture at auction, where condition, age, and the resale market for specific models vary considerably.
