Eric Råström was a Swedish silversmith working out of Stockholm whose career spanned roughly three decades from the mid-1940s to the mid-1970s. His work is consistently associated with the workshop of C.G. Råström (CG Råström), a Stockholm-based silver and new-silver manufacturer whose hallmark CGR appears on the pieces he made. The company also traded under the name Råströms Silver- O Nysilverfabrik, producing both sterling silver items and silver-plated goods.

Råström's output was rooted in the clean, functionalist idiom that shaped mid-century Swedish craft. His forms are restrained and purposeful: symmetrical bowls with hammered surfaces, tall goblets with smooth tapering walls, and paired candlesticks with pared-down profiles. He worked almost exclusively in sterling silver, with pieces carrying Stockholm assay marks and dated hallmarks that allow precise attribution. Known works range from an early bägare (beaker) struck Stockholm 1945 and a pokal (goblet) from 1947 to bowls, cups, and candlesticks made into the 1970s.

The CGR workshop was part of a broader tradition of small Stockholm silver ateliers that maintained high-quality hand production alongside the larger industrial houses such as GAB. Pieces carrying both Eric Råström's maker's mark and the CGR workshop mark represent the kind of named-craftsman attribution that distinguishes studio-level work from anonymous factory production. Other family members, including Ingrid Råström, are also recorded working under the CGR mark, suggesting the workshop had a family character.

On the auction market, Eric Råström's silver appears regularly at Stockholms Auktionsverk and Bukowskis, with a total of 33 lots recorded on Auctionist. Prices for individual pieces have reached 6,500 EUR at Bukowskis, with SEK results ranging from a few hundred for smaller cups to over 6,500 SEK for larger bowls. Candlesticks sold in pairs tend to attract the strongest interest among buyers. His work offers a well-priced entry point into mid-century Swedish studio silver.
