Bror Albert Valentin Göransson was born on 29 October 1915 in Gothenburg and spent his entire life rooted in the city and its artistic milieu. He came to painting relatively late, after trying various other occupations during his early adult years. Between 1939 and 1941 he studied at Valand's painting school in Gothenburg, the institution that would form the core of his artistic formation, and complemented this training with study trips to France and Italy.

Göransson worked primarily in oil and pastel, developing a restrained, quietly personal approach to the still life. His most characteristic works feature carafes and tabletop arrangements treated with a sensitivity to light and a muted palette that keeps the motif close, almost domestic. He also painted landscapes and urban street scenes, where the same economy of means gives even a sunlit alley or a building facade a meditative stillness.

His breakthrough came in 1945-1946. In 1949 he participated in the collective exhibition Anonyma Salongen at Olsens konstsalong in Gothenburg, one of the city's principal gallery spaces of the postwar era, and later showed work there independently. He was the younger half-brother of the painter Åke Göransson, whose intense, expressionistic figure paintings were produced almost entirely before his early death in 1942. Bror's own trajectory ran in a different direction, quieter in temperament and longer in duration, though his life also ended prematurely when he died on 8 August 1971 in Gothenburg. He is buried at Kviberg cemetery.

On the secondary auction market, Göransson's work circulates at accessible price levels, consistent with a painter whose name has largely remained within regional Swedish collecting. The 12 items tracked on Auctionist span landscapes, street scenes, and still lifes in oil and one in pastel, appearing at houses ranging from Göteborgs Auktionsverk to Laholms Auktionskammare. Recorded hammer prices cluster between 300 and 1,400 SEK, with a landscape titled 'Landskap med hus' achieving the highest result at 1,400 SEK. The geographic spread of sales venues across western and southern Sweden suggests a modest but durable regional following.
