Arne Lennart Andersson was born on March 27, 1933 in Norrköping's Hedvigs parish in Östergötland. His formative years unfolded in the landscapes of eastern Sweden before he pursued a formal education in art through NKI and Hermods, supplementing his training with extended stays in Spain between 1969 and 1974. That Mediterranean period proved pivotal: he had already spent years between France and Spain from the mid-1950s onward, and his international engagement culminated in five solo exhibitions at the Stadthalle Hannover in Germany, a venue that brought his work before a broad central European audience.

At the core of his painting is the natural world of the Swedish countryside, and in particular the Svikslandets nature reserve in Östergötland. It is a terrain shaped by birch forest margins, frozen ponds, and open fields - exactly the kind of ground where foxes quarter through the undergrowth and ducks rise from reeded margins. Andersson translated this experience into oil paintings that treat wildlife not as isolated subjects but as elements inseparable from their seasonal setting. A fox in a winter landscape, a pheasant in snow, deer in tall grass, a pair of ducks caught mid-flight - these scenes carry a quiet observation earned through time spent in the field.

Anderssonś practice was notably broad. He worked in oil, watercolor, graphics, engraving, and lithography. His color lithographs - some produced in numbered editions of 190 or 290 - range from hunting scenes to more abstract compositions. He held solo exhibitions in Växjö, Karlshamn, Norrköping and Söderköping, and his work appeared in German gallery spaces during the height of his international career. He also painted under a number of pseudonyms for different markets and subject types, including children's portraiture.

On the Nordic auction market, Andersson's wildlife oils have circulated through regional houses including Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5, Örebro Stadsauktioner, RA Auktionsverket Norrköping, Ekenbergs, and Helsingborgs Auktionskammare. Auctionist's database currently holds 13 works, predominantly oil on canvas with subjects including foxes in winter, landscape with pheasant, ducks in flight, deer, and cattle on panel. Color lithographs also appear in the record, with 'Andjakt' and 'Komposition' among the titled prints. Price levels have been modest, with the strongest result at 3,600 SEK for an oil on canvas, placing him in the accessible range of the market for Swedish wildlife painting.
