Lyme Bay Auctions has operated in East Devon since 1980, making it one of the more established independent salerooms in the South West of England. The business was taken over in 2013 by the Watson and Ballin families, who incorporated it as Lyme Bay Auctions Ltd and continue to run it today from their saleroom at 1 Harepath Road in Seaton, a small coastal town on the Jurassic Coast in Devon.
From its origins as an antiques and general household goods saleroom, the business expanded from around 1990 into commercial catering equipment auctions, eventually becoming one of the larger catering equipment auctioneers in the country. Today the saleroom covers both streams: regular antiques and general auctions alongside commercial catering sales. The antiques side encompasses jewelry, silver, ceramics, paintings, books, maps, militaria, medals, and mid-century design. Valuations are available at the Seaton saleroom, and the house offers home visits for larger collections as well as full house clearance services across Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
